Mantel ClockStock No. FLVN-GIQA

Description

This American 'Tivoli' model by the renowned Ansonia Clock Company presents a stately, architectural silhouette typical of late 19th-century domestic timepieces. The most eye-catching feature is the ornate, three-tiered crown pediment, which is beautifully balanced by carved foliate "ears" and two prominent turned columns that flank the central dial.

Constructed from substantial oak, the case is designed with a stepped, moulded base that provides a solid foundation for the twin-train movement. Functionally, the clock features an 8-day spring-driven mechanism that strikes a gong on the hour and half-hour, with two front-winding apertures integrated into the dial for easy maintenance.

The oak case retains its original warm finish, showcasing a medium-honey patina and a clear, straight grain. The clock face is protected by a hinged brass bezel with flat glass, housing a white enamel chapter ring with classic black Roman numerals and a decorative ormolu centre motif.
